- Identify quick win actions and implement them immediately:
Try drinking about 2 liters of water per day, and having 5 portions of fresh vegetables and fruit. Also walk more e.g. taking the steps instead of the lift. As a result, you’re off to a good start to a healthy digestion. - Take stock of where you are:
What’s your general health like, any issues, your digestion, how are you feeling? What foods do you usually eat, and do you chew properly or more often than not wolf it down in a rush? What are your levels of stress, do you always take the time to follow the call of nature when the urge arises? - Define your goal:
What’s your health goal, what do you want your digestion to be like? To improve digestion, sure, but what does good look like for you? - Research your problem and solutions:
Firstly, you first need to really understand the root cause of your digestion problem. Then look into how to solve it instead of just treating symptoms. - Make an action plan:
Put together a plan with the things you will need to do to reach your goal. Then work out realistic time lines and set milestones to track your progress. This will help you stay focused on your goal.

Think about the foods and other things such as probiotics that you may need to get. Also find some recipes you want to try for the fresh vegetables you’ll probably be having more of. - Clear your pantry:
Get rid of all the foods that work against your goal such as bloating or hard to digest foods like beans and lentils. Also free up time that you might need for exercise by e.g. by spending less time hanging out on social media. - Do the shopping:
Stick to your shopping list and have your goal in mind to not get tempted to buy foods or other stuff you know will sabotage getting your digestion going. - Implement your action plan:
See how you go and tweak it to make it fit your life. Experiment and figure out what works for you to boost digestion to achieve what you think is healthy for you. - Celebrate success:
Give yourself credit for what you’ve achieved, even the small steps. Really, it’s a complex thing to improve digestion and hat off to you for your efforts and what may seem like small improvements to you. And if some things don’t go so well, learn from it, see it as short-term lows, and keep moving forward.
